Dr. Barach is the
author of scientific and clinical
articles on dissociation and dissociative
identity disorder. He is
a psychologist in the Cuyahoga
County Court of Common Pleas Psychiatric
Clinic, where he conducts evaluations
of felony defendants
and provides expert testimony. Dr.
Barach conducts evaluations concerning
Competency to Stand Trial, Sanity
at the Time of the Act, mitigating
factors,
Movement to Nonsecured Status, and
sexual recidivism risk. Dr. Barach
has also
served
as an
expert
for
both plaintiff and defense attorneys
in
civil matters, such as malpractice
cases. For over 25 years, Dr. Barach
was a full-time clinicial psychologist,
treating adults and couples, with
a speciality in dissociative disorders.
Dr. Barach is currently limiting
his practice to forensic psychological
services and conference presentations.
Dr.
Barach is
Senior Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry
at Case Western
Reserve Medical School in Cleveland,
Ohio.
He is a past president
of the International Society for
the Study
of Trauma and Dissociation. Within
the dissociative disorders field,
he
is known for
having first highlighted
the link between disordered attachment
and the origins of dissociative
disorders. In addition to his writings
on dissociation, Dr. Barach also
wrote (with R. F. Stamps) The
Therapist's Internet Handbook,
published by W. W. Norton. |
